Why Impact Matters at ETA
Educate a Woman. Transform a Nation.
What We’re Solving
ETA University isn’t just an online institution — it’s a movement to close the gender gap, end educational exclusion, and transform Africa’s future through tech.
Our mission is built on a simple truth:
When you educate a woman in technology, you empower a community, a country, and a continent. ETA was founded to disrupt cycles of poverty, gender inequity, and brain drain — using world-class tech education as the catalyst for long-term social and economic change.

The Gender Gap in Tech
Only 25% of the global tech workforce are women — and that number is even lower in Sub-Saharan Africa. ETA creates a direct pathway for women to break into high-paying, high-growth digital careers.

The Brain Drain Crisis
Top academic talent continues to leave Africa for better opportunities abroad. ETA retains and uplifts local talent by offering remote opportunities, competitive pay, and strategic career support.

The Education Gap
Only 3% of Sub-Saharan youth are enrolled in higher education — compared to 9% globally. ETA offers affordable, accessible education that meets Africa’s scale and urgency.

The Economic Divide
Millions of African women remain excluded from the digital economy. ETA’s training leads to remote jobs, entrepreneurial ventures, and financial independence.

Impact At Scale
Our Target:
-
Start by serving 420,000 women across 7 countries (Botswana, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Nigeria, Malawi and Ghana) and then expand
-
Capture 0.5% of the $5B+ addressable tertiary education market
-
Deliver impact for 96 million underserved women of working age
Aligned With the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
ETA’s work directly supports the following SDGs:
SDG 1: No Poverty
By equipping women with job-ready tech skills, we break intergenerational cycles of poverty through sustainable careers.
SDG 4: Quality Education
We provide inclusive, flexible, and affordable education to women who would otherwise be left behind.
SDG 5: Gender Equality
ETA empowers women to lead in industries historically closed to them — like AI, cybersecurity, blockchain, and more.
SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth
Graduates enter the remote workforce with competitive global salaries and leadership potential.
